Common questions

Getting started

What is Noumento?

Noumento reads the sources you connect and organises what it finds, so the AI assistant you already use can ask it about your work.

Getting started

How do we start?

Request access at noumento.com and tell us about your team. We read every request, and approved teams start with a free 14-day trial. If your request is approved, you get an email inviting you to sign in, and you join as your team’s admin.

Getting started

What does it cost?

Every team starts with a 14-day trial. Pricing is agreed after the trial.

What happens when our trial ends?

When a trial ends, Noumento stops collecting new data. Everything already collected stays available, and you can keep asking about it. The privacy policy says how long it stays after that.

Privacy policy

How do people sign in?

You sign in with Google, or with an email address and password.

How do I invite my team?

On the Members page, choose Invite people and add their email addresses. Each person gets an email inviting them to sign in, and joins as a member unless you make them an admin.

Sources

Which tools does Noumento work with?

Noumento connects to Slack, Microsoft 365 (Teams and Outlook mail), Granola and Notion. Noumento connects with your own access, so it sees only what you can already see.

What does Noumento read?

From Slack and Microsoft 365 it reads messages only from the channels and mail folders each member chooses, and nothing is chosen for them. Each source’s page in the app is where you choose its channels, folders or Notion areas.

What Noumento reads from each source

Does it read my Slack direct messages?

Slack’s permission screen asks for access to direct messages, but Noumento does not offer direct messages for a member to choose. Noumento doesn’t answer messages you type to it in Slack.

Why does my IT administrator need to approve Microsoft 365?

Your organisation’s IT administrator may need to approve Noumento once before anyone can connect it. The Sources page gives you a link to send them.

How far back does Noumento read, and how often does it check?

When you first connect Slack, Noumento reads back about the last 30 days. After that, it checks your chosen Slack channels for new messages a few times a day. When you first connect Teams, Noumento reads back about the last 30 days. After that, it checks your chosen Teams channels for new messages a few times a day. When you first connect Outlook, Noumento reads back about the last 30 days. After that, it checks your chosen Outlook folders for new mail about once a day. When you first connect Granola, Noumento reads the transcripts of meetings from about the last 30 days. After that, it checks for new meetings about every two hours. When you first connect Notion, Noumento reads every page in each area you’ve chosen how to share, however old. After that, it checks for changed pages about every two hours.

If I delete something in my tools, does Noumento forget it?

Deleting a message in Slack does not remove what Noumento has already read from it. Deleting a message in Teams or an email in Outlook does not remove what Noumento has already read from it. Deleting a meeting in Granola does not remove what Noumento has already read from it.

What happens when I disconnect a source?

Disconnecting a source stops Noumento reading it and deletes the stored credential, unless another of the member’s connections still uses it. Disconnecting a source does not delete what Noumento has already read from it.

Can Noumento’s connectors post or change anything in my tools?

The connectors only read: they do not post, send, edit or delete anything in your tools. It does not download attachments or files from any source.

Privacy and sharing

Who can see what Noumento finds?

What Noumento finds in your sources starts private, visible in Noumento only to you and the assistants you connect. It reaches your team’s record only when you share it, or when you’ve set where it came from to share automatically.

Reviewing and sharing

Can my admin or my manager see my private things?

What Noumento finds in your sources starts private, visible in Noumento only to you and the assistants you connect. No member’s assistant can read another member’s private record.

What if I leave things without reviewing them?

Anything you leave alone stays private to you, and it does not expire, unless you set where it came from to share automatically.

Can I take back something I’ve shared?

Yes. Find it on the About me page and choose Pull it back. A member can take back something they shared, and the team stops seeing it unless another member shared it too.

Reviewing and sharing

What does sharing automatically do?

On a source’s page, choose Automatic for a channel, folder or Notion area. Automatic sharing still passes the sensitivity check, and anything the check cannot clear goes to review instead.

Sensitive topics

What does Noumento keep out?

Noumento checks what it reads for five kinds of sensitive matter: judgements about named people, pay, the company’s own deals and fundraising, legal matters about a person, and personal lives. Content the check flags is never shared with the team. When the check is unsure, the content is treated as sensitive. When the check cannot run, the content is held back, unshared, and checked again later.

Sensitive topics

Can an admin change what’s kept out?

An admin can let one of these kinds of sensitive matter into each person’s private record, visible only to them and the assistants they connect. Content the check flags as sensitive still never reaches the team.

Your assistant and answers

Which AI assistants can I use?

Connect Claude Desktop or ChatGPT on the Your assistant page, then ask it about your work.

Connecting your assistant

What does my assistant answer from?

Noumento answers your assistant from your own private record and your team’s record, and nothing else.

Will my assistant tell me where an answer came from?

Noumento gives your assistant the source of each thing it sends, where it has one, and asks your assistant to name it. Your assistant writes the answer.

Asking questions

Can my assistant save things to Noumento?

If you ask it to, your assistant can save a note to Noumento. The note is private to you until you share it.

For admins

What can an admin do?

Admins manage the Team and Members pages. No member’s assistant can read another member’s private record.

For admins

Can an admin turn a source off for the whole team?

Your team’s admin can turn a source off for the whole team. While it is off, Noumento reads nothing new from it.

What happens to someone’s sources when an admin deactivates them?

When an admin deactivates someone, Noumento disconnects their sources and collects nothing more from them. What people shared stays with the team after they move on.

Your data and account

Where is our data kept?

Noumento’s servers, database and file storage run on Amazon Web Services in the Ireland region (eu-west-1). The text Noumento reads, the questions assistants ask and the notes they save are processed by Google’s Gemini models, through Google’s Gemini API.

Security and privacy

Is our data used to train AI?

Noumento does not train models on your data. Google does not use the text Noumento sends it to train its models.

How do we get our data deleted?

Your company can ask us to delete its data by emailing privacy@noumento.com. The privacy policy says how long deletion takes.

Privacy policy

Can we get a copy of our data?

During early access, Noumento does not provide an export or copy of your company’s data.
