Connecting your assistant

Works in the AI assistant your team already uses.

Today there are steps for Claude Desktop and for ChatGPT.

Before you start

You need a Noumento account. Sign in and open the Your assistant page.

It shows the two values you’ll paste into your assistant: the Connector URL and your Client ID.

Noumento doesn’t issue a client secret. If your assistant asks for one, leave it empty.

Adding it in Claude Desktop

  1. 1. Open Claude Desktop and go to Settings, then Connectors.
  2. 2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. 3. Name it Noumento.
  4. 4. Paste your connector URL into the URL field.
  5. 5. Open the Advanced section and paste your client ID.
  6. 6. Choose Add. Claude then opens your browser so you can sign in here.

Claude’s settings move between versions. If these steps don’t match what you see, look for where Claude lets you add a connector by URL. The two values stay the same.

Adding it in ChatGPT

ChatGPT offers developer mode on the web for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education accounts.

  1. 1. Open ChatGPT on its website in a browser. The desktop app’s own MCP server form, the one that asks for a bearer token, can’t sign in to Noumento.
  2. 2. Go to Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode. Some accounts have it under Settings, then Apps, then Advanced settings.
  3. 3. Open Plugins and choose the plus button to create a new app.
  4. 4. Name it Noumento, and paste your connector URL as its MCP server URL.
  5. 5. Set Authentication to OAuth, then open Advanced OAuth settings.
  6. 6. For Registration method, choose User-Defined OAuth Client, then paste your client ID into OAuth Client ID.
  7. 7. Choose Create. ChatGPT then opens a Noumento page in your browser so you can sign in.
  8. 8. On that page, check it names ChatGPT, then choose Approve.

Once you add it on the website, the ChatGPT desktop app uses it too. You may need to restart the desktop app for the change to take effect.

On a ChatGPT Business or Enterprise workspace, an admin may need to add the app. They can publish it to everyone from Workspace settings, then Apps, then Drafts, then Publish.

ChatGPT’s app settings move between versions. If these steps don’t match what you see, look for where ChatGPT lets you add an app by MCP server URL. The two values stay the same.

Check it’s connected

Go back to the Your assistant page. It says when your assistant has signed in to Noumento.

Then try asking your assistant: “What have I worked on this week?”

Other assistants

Steps for other assistants aren’t published yet.

Noumento publishes an assistant’s steps only after connecting it to Noumento and asking it a question in a live test.

If your assistant asks you to sign in again

If your assistant goes 30 days without using Noumento, it has to sign in again.

Follow your assistant’s prompt, sign in to Noumento, and choose Approve on the page that opens.

If it still can’t connect, remove Noumento from your assistant’s settings and add it again with the steps above.
